Pray that the well-meaning advocacy groups will avoid the temptation to "victimize the victims".
"And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by
working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: 'It is
more blessed to give than to receive.'" Acts 20:35
There are many groups that have risen up to take on this cause, understandably,
because it is so wicked. And it is necessary to do all that can be done
to break the chains that surround this epidemic in our world today.
But, even though a person can be rescued from their physical situation,
they can only truly be set free when Jesus is at the center of their
healing and restoration process.
It takes time. Scars are
deep, physically and emotionally. We must consistently strive to bless
those victimized around us with the abilities and gifts the Lord
has given us while keeping Him at the forefront of our efforts. He
created each of us uniquely as one body, but placed us within His body
to work together to offer freedom and life for those around us, and for
those who can’t fight for themselves.
"For even as the body is
one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though
they are many, are one body, so also is Christ." - 1 Corinthians 12:12
It is hard work. It takes time. But the Lord says it is more blessed to
give than receive. What has the Lord blessed you with that could be a
blessing to others? As a part of His body, are you willing to give?
